Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about commercial flooring types, installation timelines, warranties, and more.
We supply and install a wide range of commercial flooring including luxury vinyl tiles (LVT), safety vinyl, homogeneous and heterogeneous vinyl, carpet tiles, broadloom carpet, fibre-bonded carpet, rubber flooring, epoxy resin systems, and sprung athletic floors. We work with leading manufacturers including Polyflor, Altro, Forbo, Interface, and Tarkett to ensure product quality.
Installation timelines vary based on project size, floor area, and material type. A small office of 100-200 sqm typically takes 2-3 days. Larger projects such as school corridors or hospital wards may take 1-2 weeks. We always provide a detailed schedule during the quotation phase and can phase work to minimise disruption to your operations.
Yes. All our installations carry a minimum 12-month workmanship guarantee covering installation quality. The flooring products themselves carry manufacturer warranties ranging from 10 years to lifetime guarantees depending on the product specified. We provide full warranty documentation on completion of every project.
Absolutely. We regularly schedule overnight and weekend installations for healthcare facilities, retail units, and busy offices. Our team is experienced in phased working — for example, we completed a hospital ward refurbishment in overnight shifts to ensure zero patient disruption.
Yes, we provide no-obligation site surveys throughout Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. During the survey we assess subfloor condition, measure accurately, discuss your requirements, and recommend suitable products. You will receive a detailed, transparent quotation within 48 hours of the survey.
We are based in Hertford, Hertfordshire (SG13) and cover all surrounding towns including St Albans, Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City, Watford, Hemel Hempstead, Hatfield, Hitchin, Letchworth, Ware, Bishop's Stortford, and many more. We also undertake projects across the wider East of England region.
The right flooring depends on your sector, footfall, maintenance regime, and aesthetic requirements. During our site survey, we assess these factors and recommend products based on verifiable performance data — including abrasion resistance classifications, slip ratings, fire safety ratings, and acoustic properties. We never push generic solutions.
Yes, subfloor preparation is a critical part of every project we undertake. We assess moisture levels using ASTM F-2170 testing, apply latex screeds to correct levels, install damp-proof membranes where needed, and repair damaged substrates. Proper preparation ensures your flooring performs for its full intended lifespan.
Many of the products we specify are compatible with underfloor heating systems. During specification, we check manufacturer guidelines for temperature tolerance and thermal conductivity. We can recommend the best flooring options if underfloor heating is present or planned in your project.
